Dutch Regulation Exception Pesticides abolished

The Dutch Regulation Exception Pesticides (REP; in Dutch Regeling Uitzondering Bestrijdingsmiddelen) regulates the allowance of pesticides with a low risk profile. Pesticides allowed under this regulation are, for example, beer (to control snails) and garlic extract and chitosan to control various fungi. As from June 30, 2018 these REP pesticides are not allowed to be sold and as from June 30, 2019 they are not allowed to be used anymore. The reason for this decision is that also low risk pesticides need to undergo judgement. For more information, see here (in Dutch).
